Brief: The focus of this project was Biophilia and the celebration of the relationship between humans and nature.

Solution: Reading through this brief I could not bring myself to create something that celebrates our relationship with nature, there was really nothing to celebrate looking at past events and the current way the environmental crisis is being dealt with. Therefore the solution was to create something more realistic and something that would awaken society and potentially aid its relationship with nature. This book is a collection of environmental articles that engage society to make a change. Before each article, there is a hidden nature poem within french folds. Its aim is to remind the reader of our human connection to it but also allow for pockets of calmness.

Design: Each aspect of this project from the typography to the printing has an ethical and zero waste design in mind to best deliver the main idea across. The typefaces used in this editorial statistically use less ink due to their design. The layout was kept minimal to reduce excess printing but also to emit a sense of calmness that is still very direct to its purpose. Emphasis is given to each article title with expressive typography to enhance their statement.
